I found this creature only a day ago, and it seems to have attached itself to me in a way. Minding my own business, trying to find an adventure, I tripped over this gray-blue lump just outside of town. Upon further inspection, I found that it was a baby unicorn.
Now, when you think of a unicorn you probably think of a beautiful white horse with a silver mane and a long silver horn. The truth is, they are some ugly beasts.
When the unicorn is full grown, its eyes are sunken into it's reptilian skull, glowing the same dull blue as its oversized horn. There's no mane on this creature, but there are frills and spikes running down its neck. It's front legs consist of paws and the hind legs are that of a really tall lizard. There are only two parts of this monster that show some beauty, the fluffy feline-like tail and it's large wings. The wings are leather for females, and males have large fluffy, angelic wings.
I stared down at the baby, unsure of how this could change into such a hideous creature.
Unlike the adults, the young unicorns had bulging reptillian eyes, or was it like a goldfish. The eyes were placed wide apart on the face, giving it a look like it was perpetually confused. It's legs were sturdy, front paws like a minx and hind claws of a turtle. The horn on it's head was only a couple inches long. As opposed to the seven foot adult, when the baby stood on its hind legs it reached a grand total of two feet.

This little blob had followed me into the forest outside of town, and here I am, staring at the sleeping creature. Something about it warms my heart. I don't know how though.
Well, seeing as how this little guy can't seem to find its mom, I guess I'll have to take it to the nesting grounds. I don't know what we'll find when we get there, or what we'll cross paths with along the way, but I do know that I stumbled upon what I was searching for, an adventure.

death

The crash of thunder was all she could hear as the blood left her body. Her eyes stared blankly at the dark form hovering above her, the man who had just killed her. His knife shimmered with the red liquid he'd taken from her chest.

As he walked away, she tried to call out for help, but none of her muscles would move. She could feel her limbs start to grow cold from the lack of blood and the snow around her. Why couldn't she do anything? Was she dead, or could she still be alive? All of this flashed through her mind as she began to wither away into nothingness.

Her body began to deteriorate, eyes being torn away by scavenger birds, flesh eaten away by maggots and flies. She could feel all this, and wanted to scream in horror and agony, but she no longer had a voice.

A month went by until the search party finnaly found her bones. They'd been buried under the snow and Ice, only to be dug out by a canine looking for food. She watched as they swarmed around her bones, trying to figure out how she'd died. No one herd her scream or cry.

After the investigation was over, she was then buried in a grave, forcing her to spend eternity in a dark enclosed space.

Now, what will happen when you die? Will you go to heaven, or hell? Is there a heaven? Is there a hell? Or do we simply cease to exist?
